Four street artists immerse themselves in the world of illustration with 4 FIABE. Taking on the classic fairy tales, each artist tackles a blank page rather than a wall, this time seeking to blend their artistry with time honored stories that have charmed readers of all ages for generations.
Alessandra Carloni, Gio Pistone, Krayon, and UNO will each show a selection of the 14 illustrations created as part of the Smyle, Art and the Fable series of fairy tales. In this challenge, we see how each artist adapts their unique style to breath new life into old stories. From the fantastical creatures that inhabit Gio Pistone’s The Little Mermaid to the pixelated hero of Krayon’s Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, each artist places a contemporary spin on the fables.
GALLA Gallery, located in Rome’s historic Monti district, plays host to the original artworks produced for the books. This showcase is a unique opportunity to see how each artist developed their work, from the neon gradients that occupy UNO’s Peter Pan to the delicate oil paintings that Alessandra Carloni produced for Pinocchio.
From Saturday, March 23 to April 13 it will be possible to give into the world of the fairy tales, with the public invited to relive their childhood while looking toward to the future.
